Shilajit ~ Legendary Body Mineraliser!
Shilajit (Sheel-ah-jeet) (the sanskrit word meaning "rock-invincible” and "conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness.") is a food grade natural "mineral pitch" substance, an “exudate” that oozes out of cracks in the Himalayan rocks and cliffs in the summer months. It is composed of organic plant material that is thought to have been compressed by rock for thousands, of years.
After it is collected by the local inhabitants in the south-western Himalayas, it is naturally purified and processed into potent powders, extracts and tea preperations.
In Ayurveda (the traditional Indian system of medicine) Shilajit is considered one of the most potent alchemy substances on earth and is said to carry the therapeutic power of the great mountains from where it is sourced.
It uniquely possess a rich smokey scent and flavour that decorates elixirs and culinary applications with a smoky, rich, almost 'coffee' like essense.
Shilajit is truly a remarkable substance with a long history of human usage of over ten thousand years for healing, building, and rejuvenation.
Taken as a tonic, it is said to strengthen the immune system, fortify cells and muscles, and can be used as an anti-oxidant, and an anti-stressor amongst other things (which we strongly reccomend you undertake your own research on!)
Shilajit is extremely rich in plant-source ‘organic’ minerals. Most assays show that shilajit, depending on its source, contains between 70 and 85 complexed ionic minerals and trace elements, as well as Humic Acids, Humins, Dibenzo Alpha Pyrones and Fulvic Acids, the main active components in shilajit.
Shilajit is also astoundingly rich in nutrients, antioxidants, amino acids and phytochemicals.
Shilajit has the ability to drive minerals into the muscles and bones for ultimate body strength. Since these minerals are in simple ionic form, they are absorbed by the body with little energy.
In addition, Shilajit is a potentiator, meaning it amplifies the ramps-up the beneficial effects and enhances their bioavailability and action of any substance it is added to/taken with, providing a deep mineral charge.
THE DISCOVERY OF SHILAJIT..
is said to be made by Himalayan villagers observing large white monkeys migrate to the mountains in the warm summer months. The monkeys were seen to be chewing a semi-soft substance that flowed from between layers of rock. The villagers attributed the monkey’s great strength, longevity and wisdom to the substance. They began to consume it themselves and reported a broad spectrum of improvements in health.
