Native to the Mediterranean, This versatile dessert ingredient, Carob powder blends well to make tasteful smoothies, desserts and cookies and can be considered a nutritious and naturally sweet whole food offering many trace minerals, is a good source of protein and contains twice and more calcium than dairy milk - yes, you read that right!!
Carob is very high in calcium (three times richer than in milk) amongst other minerals, it is 8% protein and contains vitamins A, B, B2, B3 and D. It is used by many as an alternative to cocoa as it is free from caffeine and theobromine which are the stimulants in cacao, is also seventeen times less fat and is caffeine free.
It is also naturally sweet so requires less additional sugar to sweeten it. Our Carob powder has a distinctively sweet fragrance and taste and has been minimally processed, ensuring it remains raw and un-treated.
