There were dozens to collect; all bright on the eye candy coloured, overly glossy, scented and flavoured to high-heaven.

They didn’t really do much for chapped lips and they melted all over the place if they got too warm. But nevertheless, they were fun with a side of cool factor. 

Never mind of course, that they did contain ingredients of questionable safety for a human body like Mineral Oil and petroleum based waxes oh and not forgetting all those xenoestrogens in the artificial scents. Delicious!

While the days of lipsmacker ended with my academia, my search for the perfect lip balm continued.

Although thesedays, the critera for an "acceptable" lip balm only gets tougher and there only remains a privileged few that get transferred from back-pocket to bag to jacket until I’ve scraped the last out of the bottom of the tube.

Black cherry is kind of a personal soft spot and i was over the hills thrilled to discover it also has a reddish tint (subtle, but pretty)
